Urgent Neurological Consultation
Senior-level neurological judgment when it’s not an emergency—but waiting weeks could meaningfully delay clarity, safety, or recovery.
This may be appropriate for you if you are
-
Concerned about a neurological problem that is not an emergency, but feels urgent and should not wait the typical long scheduling delays
-
Recently discharged from the hospital or instructed by another clinician to see a neurologist promptly
-
Confused, worried, or unsettled by test results (MRI, CT, EEG, labs) and want urgent expert interpretation and direction
Common situations include
-
New or worsening symptoms where you’re unsure what is important and what is not
-
Mixed or conflicting opinions from prior clinicians
-
Unclear imaging or laboratory findings and uncertainty about what to do next
-
Post-hospital or post-ER discharge questions, including medication or follow-up confusion
-
A family member or loved one needing guidance on next steps and how urgent things truly are
What you will leave with
A focused, physician-led consultation designed to bring clarity and direction. Dr. Frank will listen carefully, review your history and testing, and help you understand what matters most. You will leave with a clear plan—what to do next, what can safely wait, and how to coordinate additional care if needed.
Response time, scheduling, and visit format
-
Response time: Requests are typically reviewed and responded to within 6 hours (during business hours), based on appropriateness and availability.
-
Scheduling: When accepted, appointments are typically available within one week or less, depending on the specifics of the request.
-
In-person vs. telehealth: For local patients, in-person visits are preferred. Telehealth may be considered for patients who are far away, including international patients.
-
Out-of-Illinois (U.S.) telehealth: For patients outside Illinois who cannot travel, telehealth consultations are considered educational, with clinical care provided by local specialists.
Fee and Insurance
